Selena stars Jennifer Lopez and Edward James Olmos. It is the true story of a Grammy-winning singer who overcame many obstacles to reach her dream, just to have it cut short by someone whom she loved and trusted. This movie is very poignant, and Jennifer Lopez does a remarkable job of portraying Selena. She even looks like her. I don't know how close the movie is to the actual facts of Selena's life, but I know it is based on it.
In this movie, we hear the beautiful songs of Selena, and we really get a chance to experience what Selena's growing up years were like as well as the struggles that she had to overcome in her climb to stardom. My entire family has watched this movie and enjoyed it, more than once, in fact. You cannot see Selena and not be touched by it, even if you did not follow Selena's career when she was alive.
The movie is 128 minutes long, rated PG, and has some special features, including interactive menus and subtitles.
I highly recommend Selena, it is a moving movie that you would not want to miss.
