Image for Sentry Safe - Keep Your Shared Review Notes SAFE!

About 5 years ago we came to the decision to purchase a fire safe to protect our growing list of important documents, paperwork, computer software, backup cd's of all the pictures we have taken from the day we were married and all of our receipts for collectibles and items in our home.

We decided on the Sentry 1175 Fire Safety Security File. It was large enough to hold everything that we needed for our family of 4.

The features we like about this safe are:

It holds our 8-1/2 x 11 paperwork plus A4 hanging files for easy access to what we are looking for. It also holds our computer software cd's, backup files and picture negatives.

This safe is a light grey in color and seems to blend into the background. We cover ours with a small rug and top it with a large Mickey figurine.

There is a key lock for privacy but this does not mean it is theft proof if someone is bound and determined to find your key. (This just happened to someone we know)

The protection features we like are:

ETL Verified ½ hour fire protection for CD's, DVD's, USB drives and memory sticks up to 1500 deg. F.

Proven UL classified - ½ hour fire protection

A lifetime after-fire replacement and manufacturer's limited warranty.

Our Sentry safe is 14-1/16"H x 17-3/8"W x 17-7/32"D, the inside capacity is 1.29 cu.ft., and it weighs in at a hefty 56.6 lbs. (something I will never be picking up!).

We have been very happy with our safe so far and have not had to test any of the safety features to date. It is very solid and has a tight seal for our valuables kept inside.

Whenever we leave for vacation, which we just did a few weeks ago, I add all of my shared review notes for upcoming reviews, ideas, purchase receipts and descriptions into one of the hanging files. I am always jotting down ideas so this would be hard to recapture if I had to do all over again!!

Be sure to copy/scan everything in your safe onto a cd or dvd, give them to someone not living with you and make sure the key is with you when you are not home, not hidden away in a drawer where a thief will find it!!
