Sergeant's Skip-Flea and Tick shampoo for cats is one of the many flea-control products I've tried when my cats had a flea problem. The pink shampoo with a picture of a wet kitty on the bottle is said to have insecticidal ingredients that are "highly and rapidly effective against fleas, ticks, and lice." The shampoo also contains coconut conditioners, promising to add "lustre and groomability" to the cat's coat. All that sounded great, so I bought a bottle.
It goes without saying that my cats did not like the procedure of being washed, lathered, held like that for 4-5 minutes (that's required for better results) and then thoroughly rinsed. I persevered and completed the cat bathing. As I toweled and combed my still upset kitties, I noticed dead fleas falling off of them. Good! The shampoo appeared to be working. Another thing I noticed, as the kitties dried up, was how great they smelled and how wonderfully soft and silky their coats felt. The conditioning part worked as well!
As much as I like this product, I must say that it did not kill all the fleas. It did help, but it had not solved the problem. The conditioning effect is truly great though. I still keep a bottle of this shampoo around, not as a flea remedy but as a good cat shampoo for occasional kitty baths.
