I borrowed this from a friend because we had some hard to clean areas we wanted to try this on. We bought another brand steam cleaner once and returned it because it did not work. This one worked okay.
I first tried to tackle the stove top. With the steamer and much scrubbing, I got very little off the stove top. It does not get the built up grease like it says it does. Next I tried my microwave. With the steamer and light scrubbing, I got most of the residue off. I then used it on my refrigerator handle - you know how the kids get their grimy hands all over that thing. It worked great and the door handle was white again. Next stop - the bathroom. This steamer got into areas that we can never get clean. It really gets the crevices around your faucets really well. I also used it on the shower. It was very effective in getting the soap scum off. It was somewhat effective on the mildew stains. Lighter stains came off, but the older built up stains would not come off. I have to say, it did look better, but just didn't get all the stains off.
The Shark did a decent job, but I was disappointed that it did not clean the stove top better. That was the one thing we really wanted to get clean. The negatives of this thing is that you really have to have patience. It is a slow process to clean with this. You work a very small section at a time and have to have a towel on hand to wipe. I thought it took a long time to heat up. I also made sure that my kids stayed away because the pressure and heat on this could be dangerous.
