The Shimano Curado 100 series baitcasting reel is an exceptional workhorse for a variety of fishing applications. I primarily use it for largemouth bass. This generation of Curado reels is apparently a major upgrade from the previous Bantam design Curados. The reel offers amazing castability with a variety of lure styles from large spinnerbaits to smaller cranks and finnesse worms, especially Senkos. It's not a high speed or large spool reel - There's a bigger Curado 200 series that accomplishes that - but can hold enough line for most situation. It works fine for all mono, flouro and braided lines. I've used hybrid mono up to 16lb test with ease and still had plenty of line on the spool. Strong and dependable drag. I'd trust the reel on a trophy bass in a heartbeat. May be not as flashy or fast as the higher end Daiwa and Shimano reels, but is an excellent buy for the price you can get with many online retailers.
