Shu Uemura Eyelash curler is a favorite with celebrities and makeup artists because it creates the look of very full, long lashes with a curl that sometimes even lasts until the next day, even after I remove my eye makeup. The curl is substantial enough to even forgo mascara - and it creates a curl without a crimp mark that looks fake - this curl looks like the long lashes you sometimes see on a little boy with a natural lush soft curl. The curler is especially shaped to fit difficult eye shapes including deep set and an Asian eye. The shape is very fragile. The downside is the curler itself is only available at stores like Sephora and high end retailers and it costs $18. There is one curler pad refill, which you are supposed to replace after three months. The entire life of the curler is 6 months. I find you can get some extra use out of it if you keep it in the box (or the special Shu Uemura carrying case that is made to protect the delicate shape of the curler) and wipe down the curler pad after each use. While this might be expensive for an everyday eyelash curler, it is worthwhile for special occasions such as when you might otherwise wear false eyelashes.
