I finally decided to buy an Mp3 player. I wanted something I could listen to on my walks and in my car since it has an outlet for an Mp3 player. I wanted somthing small and easy to use, without a lot of bells and whistles. I also did not want to spend a lot of money. After looking at several different models I decided on the ipod Shuffle.
The Shuffle is a very small Mp3 player. It measures 1 1/2 in. x 1 in. and only weighs a few ounces. It comes in 5 colors; purple, blue, green, pink and silver. I bought the purple one, although it looks blue in the pictures. The shuffle has a clip on the back so it can be hooked to your belt, shirt or whatever.
The controls are very easy to use. On one end it has 2 buttons; one is the on/off switch and the other lets the user decide between straight playback or shuffling their music in a random order. On the front there is a round control panel. In the center is the play/pause feature. The top and bottom of the circle is the volume up and down controls. On the sides of the circle are the forwards and back controls.
The Shuffle has a 1 GB flash memory and can store up to 240 -4 minute songs. It supports audio formats including ACC, protected ACC from the itunes store, Mp3, Mp3 VBR, AIFF, WAV and audible 2/3/4 formats.
The Shuffle comes with earbuds and a USB connector. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. The Shuffle can play up to 12 hours on a charge and a full charge takes 4 hours.
It was very easy to set up the Shuffle. I just plugged it in to my computer using the included USB dock. I already had the itunes software on my computer, but if you don't it will lead you through the downloud process. After you have the software, just purchase songs from itunes or you can import songs from your own music CDs. Then, make a playlist, click on the autofill button and the music is transferred to the Shuffle.
I am very happy with my shuffle. I clip it to my waist band when I go walking. It makes my walks a lot more enjoyable. I also used it in my car so I don't have to deal with changing CDs while driving. I highly recommend the ipod Shuffle for anyone looking for an inexpensive, small Mp2 palyer.
