I don't normally go for items that are branded for celebrities like this, but I have always had a hard time with knives in terms of getting a good grip. I just don't wind up holding them correctly and get frustrated by the end result, which is ineffective cutting and slicing. I was watching Rachael Ray on TV one day and realized she holds her knives the same way I do, except her knives were made that way. I did a little resarch and decided to get the two Santuko knives.
These things are sharp and they work great for my weird grip. I can chop so much faster now, and I don't live in fear of cutting myself in the process. They hold an edge very well and the weight is really nice. I'm not super excited about the bright orange handles, but I do notice them when they are in a pile of dirty dishes!
These probably work best for women or men with smaller hands, and definitely will be a big turn-off for professional-level chefs who are comfortable with traditional (proper) knife technique. If you're like me, though, they could bring your cooking to a new level.
