I suffer from styes, on a frequent basis. Recently, I found myself with eyelids so swollen I could barely open my eye, and was on the verge of going to the emergency room to get something, ANYTHING, to help. But with my husband away, I didn’t much feel like spending hours waiting to see a doctor. So while doing groceries, I decided to take a look in the pharmacy for some sort of drop that might help.
As I was about to give up, I came across Similasan drops, and lo and behold, there was Stye Relief! I nearly cried from joy for all the pain I was in! So I grabbed a bottle and decided if it didn’t help in the three days or so until my husband got home, then I’d see the doctor.
Well, I have to say, for someone who suffers frequent and painful styes, these drops are amazing! All natural, they don’t sting or irritate at all. The dropper comes attached to the bottle, so no worries about losing it or contaminating it by dropping or other means. The dropper is on the large size, so while the bottle recommends 2-3 drops, one is quite enough for an average eye. While it doesn’t heal them, as stated on the package, the solution does an incredible job of reducing swelling and pain. The only real downside I found was the price – it was $16 at Shopper’s Drug Mart, though it would likely be cheaper elsewhere. But, considering the price of many prescriptions, and the time involved in seeing a doctor, it’s money well spent. I used the drops solidly 4-5 times a day for about a week, and it is almost entirely gone – just a tiny lump and small amount of redness is all that’s left, and it’s quickly disappearing. I plan on using this every time I get a stye, because it helps relieve the symptoms so well I can easily get through the natural healing process without needing to see a doctor.
I highly recommend these drops if you suffer from styes, especially if they get as bad as mine.
