In recent years, I did a lot of traveling. As the airlines have cut back on carry-on luggage, I had to get creative to make sure I could keep specific things with me and not have to check them with my luggage. My purse wasn't big enough and my regular carry-on was often taken from me during flights on smaller planes. It was a hassle trying to get medication, flight itineraries and something to read in my purse, plus pull my carry-on and usually a drink and food. These were all things I considered necessities and wanted easy access to them if needed during a trip.
While waiting for a flight, I spotted this tote bag in a gift shop. It caught my eye first because it is decorated with horses and I love horses. As I looked further, I realized that this bag was really great and I could definitely find a use for it. It was also inexpensive, so if it didn't work out or if it fell apart, I wouldn't be losing much money.
I took it outside the shop and examined it. I then realized that my purse would easily fit inside. This bag is 12"x12"x6". My purse, which was not small, fit inside with no problem. I was able to put my book in there, along with a couple of magazines and even snacks. Still room to spare! I loved it immediately! Even better, it has two large outside pockets. One side seals with velcro and the other is zippered. This was the perfect place for my itinerary and other papers I was carrying. Inside, there is an attached coin purse that is within easy reach. I couldn't have asked for more.
My only fear was that the bag would not fit under the seat and they'd make me store it. That didn't turn out to be a problem, especially once I pulled my book out to read during the flight.
The tote has 2 long handles for easy shoulder carrying. Inside, the top seals with velcro.
The tote is quite sturdy as I've used it many times and it's still in good shape. I love the horses that decorate the outside, though there were other designs to choose from, including dice for those who prefer a gambling theme.
Though I bought mine at Logan Airport in Boston, I have since seen them at other airports and gift shops. If you are looking for extra space while traveling, this might be the answer for you too.
