The Sims 2 Pets for the Nintendo DS is a fun game for all ages. In the game, you are the local vet and the other Sims bring their pets to you to get fixed. You have to check out the pets to see if they have the flu, fleas, a broken limb, something stuck inside them, worms, or they could be dirty or ugly. If the animal is ugly, you have to dress them in nice clothes. I found that part of the game odd, but my 8-year old likes dressing up the pets. When you start the game, you design your Sim and you can pick your pet, a cat or dog. They have many breeds to choose from. You shop through the computer in your house for food and furniture for you and clothes, food, and medicine for the animals. When you set up shop in your house, you should get an examination table, groomers table, animal bath, and a kennel to hold the animals. For your part of the house, you will need a shower, toilet, stove, and couch. Just like with other Sims games, you have to meet your Sims needs. If they have low hygeine, they need a shower. If they have low comfort, they need to sit down. One big difference from regular Sims games I noticed is when your shop closes, your Sim automatically goes to bed. So this is really a game just about taking care of the pets, not playing with your Sim. If you like simulation games, and you like animals, I think this would be a good game for you. I like it and so does my 8 year old, so it appeals to a wide age range.
