This Collector's Edition version of Sin City is truly fantastic. Anyone familiar with Robert Rodriguez will know that he takes great interest in the filmmaking process and giving viewers a peek into it, and the extras on this DVD make this clear. This package includes the complete graphic novel of The Hard Goodbye and 2 DVDs.
The first DVD has the movie and several commentary tracks as well as a track recorded as an audience watched the film. The second disc contains Rodriguez's staple film school (teaching techiques for filmmakers), cooking school where he shows how they made breakfast burritos from scratch, a behind-the-scenes of Quentin Tarantino directing the car scene with Benecio and Clive, and a sped-up version of the entire movie as it was shot against green screen, before all the special effects were added.
It's quite incredible to see how a movie so heavy in special effects was created in this way, and the featurettes offer interesting insight into complicated filming with scenes where actors that appear on-screen together were actually filmed separately at entirely different times. The whole overview really adds to the overall appreciation of the film.
