After my sinus surgery, the ENT told me I might want to routinely flush out my sinuses and he gave me a recipe to use to make my own salt water solution. Well, I got lazy and someone had told me about a system over the counter that you could buy for this purpose. So, one day I called hubby and asked him to pick it up on his way home.
This is definately not what I expected. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have even bought it. But since we'd spent the money I felt obligated to at least try it out.
PROS: It comes with little packets of dry mixture that you simply pour into the container and add water. So, you don't have to measure anything. VERY simple. Also, the little container that basically looks like an old fashioned watering can is dishwasher safe (top shelf).
CONS: This system uses gravity and does not "force" the solution into your sinuses.
Well, basically if you are looking to clean out your sinuses from a cold this may work for you. But, if like me, you've got a narrow passage which is prone to infection, you might want to skip this and just go with the syringe and home made salt water.
