I have found Six Flags over St. Louis to be a very disappointing destination. Our family includes adults and children covering a wide range of ages. Each year I find that we get less enjoyment out of our Six Flags experience although the price continues to increase.
Six Flags does now include a water park with the price of admission. Generally, on hot days the water park is overcrowded. Lines for the attractions are long and we have found that we end up skipping most of them rather than waste our entire day waiting for a couple of water rides. For the past several years we have entirely opted to skip the water park area of Six Flags despite that fact that my girls love anything water related.
I find Six Flags over St. Louis disappointing for a variety of reasons. The park does not offer much variety as far as food options. All food is served counter service and severely lacks in taste. The park is moderately clean but many of the buildings are in need of updating and general maintenance.
The park offers very, very limited space to simply sit and rest and almost none of it is shaded.
I was excited to learn that the park had an infant care area with space for feeding and changing babies which was said to be air-conditioned. I was upset to find this area was an old train car with a nearly non-working air-conditioning unit. The place was not at all child friendly and the feeding "stalls" were tiny with uncomfortable chairs and no room for strollers. It was anything but family-friendly.
The commercials for Six Flags make the park seem fun and make our kids ask to go each year but suspect we will not be returning for quite awhile.
