It is very important not to skimp when buying shoes for your young children as there feet are still growing. You want there feet to be able to form normally. Cheaper shoes do not always provide the best support and quality. It is however a difficult task to find extra wide shoes for children with wider than average feet and this is what we face when looking for shoes for my 20 1/2 month old grandson who has a wide foot just like myself. Thank goodness for Stride Rite shoes who provide varying shoe widths for children.

Having outgrown all except one pair of his shoes. we were on the hunt for some new sneakers for my grandson this weekend. We decided to hit our local Outlet Mall and see if we could be successful. The very first store we hit up was Stride Rite and we were extremely successful right off the bat.

We wound up buying two pairs of sneakers in my grandson's size which is 9 1/2 exra wide. My daughter-in-law bought one pair and I bought another one. The pair which I bought are the Superball Hook and Loop III which cost half of which they would have cost outside. They are the very same quality but are sold in the outlet store. The two pairs wound up costing what one pair would have cost.

The Superball Hook and Loop III have a heel component that delivers maximum energy return on impact. They also have built in directional lugs that help keep your childs feet on the ground no matter how fast they ae travelling. Mid sole cushioning support ensures that their feet remain cushioned and protected with each step they take. The shoe is very sturdy in that they have an upper layer which is made out of leather and mesh which allows for the feet to breath.

My gut instinct to visit Stride Rite was correct. When my own childen were growing up, I never skimped on cheap shoes for them. They too word mainly Stride Rite shoes and none of them has ever had any foot problems. It is nice to find that the company is continuing the tradition of providing quality footwear for children. I highly recommend this brand every parent of children. They may cost a bit more but the quality cannot be beat!
