I am a fan of Skechers, but last year, I bought a pair of their sandals (flip flops) for $35 and the shoes completely fell apart after a few times of wearing them. So I have been wary of buying another pair of sandals from Skechers ever since.
Last week I decided to go into my local Skechers store and browse around. I noticed that there were some white sandals on sale for $5! I knew that was a price I would be unlikely to see again for a new pair of SKechers, so I snatched up a pair of size 8's and headed to the register.
The sandals are called Heatwaves Cottage and they are very attractive to look at. However, they are not as comfortable as I would like. The size 8 could be a little bit bigger, and the shoes are pretty heavy for flip flops, making it difficult to walk. The material of the shoes where your feet go is described as "shiny mesh" and I'm sure that it will be dificult to keep this clean. The straps are white canvas, so those will be dirty after I wear the shoes for a week.
With all of the complaints, I think that these shoes were a good buy, and hey--they're Skechers! If you can't live without your cute name brand shoes, then by all means, get a pair. However, if you are looking for comfort, these shoes are not the greatest. They normally retail for about $35 and I would have never bought them at that price, but for $5--I couldn't passd these up.
