Today, I got home from a weekend getaway to Lancaster, PA. We stayed at a hotel in Mountville, which is near Lancaster, called the Sleep Inn. It's a 2-star hotel, so it doesn't have a lot, but the people are nice, the air is clean, and the landscape is nice. It's in Amish country, so you can get buggy rides from nearby attractions. There are a couple of restaurants near; I ate from the Subway and their food is very good!
It's amenities are: air conditioner, microwave, non smoking rooms, internet access, coffee maker, pool, and a courtesy breakfast to name a few. Except the TV, it doesn't have much entertainment options other than an indoor swimming pool.
The courtesy breakfast was a pain; the food was good but the counter was crowded. Then you have to carry all your food back to your room, unless you eat in the dining area. The said area had a small amount of seating, so the majority of the hotel's occupants weren't eating in there. The Sleep Inn has no room service, which is a pain.
All the accommodation is a room with two double beds. The room is kind of claustrophobic, so the chairs make the room even smaller. The bathroom has a weird sliding door mechanism and the lock latch doesn't work. It gets points for being different, but it was strange. When talking in the bathroom, the room echoes. I found this extremely creepy and didn't know if my second floor neighbors could hear me! The nicest part of the hotel room was the shower; it has cream colored walls and gold shower door lining. It was very comfortable. The beds were pretty good, they were clean and soft, but they were small.
Choice Hotels does have a rewards program, but I never used it. I think you have to be a member with them to get it.
This hotel has a business center and meeting rooms, so it's perfect for employees.
This hotel has no childcare facilities.
All in all, while this hotel was clean and comfortable, I wouldn't make a second stay here because there are much nicer hotels in the area that do it up for Lancaster.
