I purchased the Sleep Number Deluxe Queen Pillowtop bed because it came with four easy payments. My husband and I tried it out for a week, and still was not sure about whether or not we liked it. Approximately a year later now, I know for sure I do not like it at all. My husband is not thrilled with it either.
The bed arrives in four boxes, and I needed help moving them to the bedroom. The instructions for set up are fairly easy enough for anyone to read and put together. However, I could not put the frame together on my own, my husband had to help with the strenght part and aligning the screw holes. The frame is made of a very strong and heavy plastic. Maybe we had a bad frame, but it does not fit all the way around properly, but it does work. There are 2 air mattresses that goes into the frame, then thick foam padding seperates the mattresses, also there is foam that fits all the way around the outside of the mattresses, sort of like boxing them in. The pillowtop covering fits around the foam and mattress and then is zippered close.
The pump is attached to the mattresses and the remote control is attached to the pump. There is only one pump which controls both mattesses. The pump and remote control work well and inflates and deflates quickly.
The Sleep Number bed is a very expensive bed for an air mattress. I have tried it set on a very hard number (high number) and I have tried it on a very soft number (low number) and every number inbetween. I do not like this bed at all.
I would not recommend this bed, and would suggest if you are going to pay for an air mattress, you just buy one for about $40 in the camping section of your local store, save yourself a thousand or more dollars.
