When my dad died unexpectedly, after complications from a triple bypass, I was the primary caregiver for my mother for 3 1/2 years. During that time, I developed a sleep disorder because I felt so much pressure to keep her safe and happy. She has many illnesses and takes lots of medications. She is also an insulin dependent diabetic that often goes low without warning. So having her continue to live in her home alone was scary.
Because of the constant emergency calls for crisis after crisis, I became totally on edge every minute, and when I would lie down at night, I just couldn't sleep, as my body was all keyed up.
So I decided to purchase some peaceful instrumental music to create an atmosphere that would be conducive to rest. One of my favorites is this CD from Walmart called "Sleep Soundly" by Christophe Maro. All the tracks are really good, except for one that is a little too busy for my liking. But it is definitely calming, and sets the tone for a peaceful night. I also like to play it when I am doing housework, as it makes me feel relaxed. It seems to be primarily strings, and it is just beautiful. Play this CD, and light a couple of scented candles, and you will feel like you are staying at an expensive spa or resort. I think almost anyone would enjoy the peacefulness it brings.
