Before using Sun Cellular's Easy Broadband plan, I was using Smart Bro Prepaid Wireless Broadband. I tried using it firstly because this is a product of one of the country's leading telecommunications companies. Definitely I had to try this one.
Just like my Sun Broadband, it gave me the plug-and-play convenience to surf the internet. That time it was worth around $50 but now I think it prices to around $20 to $25.
At first it was really working okay. Maybe because I was one of the first people to use this product, I could maximize the use of the internet service in our area. It provided fast downloads and surfing. I can even watch my favorite video clips in YouTube!
The good thing about this product is that it is prepaid. Yes, prepaid. Just like loading my prepaid cellphone to send text messages and make calls, I can prepay my internet surfing time. Just go to the nearest convenient store (or sari-sari store, if you live in the Philippines) and in an instant you can now surf the internet. For only $0.44 I can enjoy surfing for 30 minutes.
Now the downside of this product. Since it really became popular, many people started availing this product. In our area, the more users there are, the more people are sharing for the surfing convenience. The slower the downloading becomes. For a time it took me more than ten minutes before I could download one web page. My prepaid internet load gets consumed fast, without me enjoying the benefits of it.
Another is that, it is not really recommended for active internet users, such as myself. On the average, I surf the internet five hours a day. That would cost me around $4.50 a day ($135 a month). That is almost Php6, 000 in my local currency. With this amount I can buy two pairs of shoes, or a month's food supply (as I live alone in the city). It was really not a practical thing to do or enjoy at all.
After almost a year of using this service I have decided to let go of my SmartBro prepaid internet service and opted to apply for a postpaid plan with Sun Broadband (which, will be discussed in a separate review, lol!).
If you live in Metro Manila and would want to avail of a post paid plan to get your internet services, I suggest you try Sun Broadband. It works good for me. Why not try it.
