Goodwill. I find so many treasures each time I shop there. Many times the items are brand new with the tag or just plain brand new with no tag. Toward the back of the store, you can find newer items for the household. I was browsing the shelves and found a beautiful wall clock. It looked new. The price $6.00. Great bargain! I bought it.
This is a Smith & Hawken wall clock . It is bronze with a very pale yellow face. There is a humidity and temperature gauge on the face. the humidity gauge goes from 0-100 and also states: very dry-dry-normal-humid. The temperature gauge goes from -40 to 140 and states: very cold-cold-normal-very hot. Smith & Hawken is imprinted on the face.
The Smith & Hawken wall clock is beautiful and looks perfect on the wall in my livingroom. I was told by Goodwill cashier returns can be made up to 5 days if the clock is non-workable. It runs like a charm.
I was really surprised when only two days after I bought it, I received an e-mail from Smith & Hawken stating : Thank You for 30 wonderful years in the garden. I received e-mails before from this store about the online store and items. The online site is closed now. With a quick check of the internet, I found that Smith & Hawken is being closed by its parent company Scotts Miracle-Gro. The Smith & Hawken brand will be dropped by the end of this year. The stores are still open and selling til most items are sold.
Just a coincidence to have purchased a clock and then received the e-mail of closing. I never purchased anything Smith & Hawken in the past. So each time I look at the clock, I think of another one of our companies that collapsed from our poor economy. Kind of sentimental.
