It doesn't get much better than this when it comes to classic games! Unless you liked Sega back in the day that is. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System was the successor to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) released by Nintendo. The SNES improved upon its predecessor on every conceivable point. The graphics were amazing and top of the line and the physical design was a bit more user friendly. It still remains a favorite among most older players and I play it more often than my Playstation 2.

The best part was easily the control. A new re-designed control meant more face buttons, shoulder buttons and a nicely rounded pad that fit in your hand (no more corners that dug into your fingers!) With this new control came plenty of great games to while away your youth. The 1st party games were always the best and Nintendo did not dissapoint. With titles like The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Super Metroid, Super Mario, Castlevania IV, Contra III and Street Fighter II, one could hardly expect to get any sleep. Super Metroid is still one of the best games I have ever played and wows me to this day.

Considered an obsolete system by many, the SNES is still one of the most enjoyable consoles around and its simple yet engaging games never cease to amaze. True, it is a dead system but there's plenty of life in that big gray console. If you, like me, have plenty of fond memories of placing that nicely contoured controller in your hands as you beat just one more boss, then you cannot pass this classic system up. It is unavailable in most retail outlets but a quick trip to the internet can net you a very affordable cache of games and accessories as well as the system itself! A definite purchase.
