This is a plastic toboggan sled that is highly visible and provides great fun at an economical price.
Actually, I need a sled for hauling winter camping gear, but it can always be used as a play sled when kids come over. I bought this a couple of weeks ago because my old sled for camping finally began to crack and break up. But when we had company this past week the kids tested this new sled on the hill. It was plenty slippery and worked like any of these plastic sleds.
I like the colorful swirls in the sled. It also came in two plain colors... I think they were pink and lime green. This is 4 feet long by 18 inches at the widest point. The bed is 4.5 inches deep. There are 5 grooves on the bottom for tracking. Of course you can’t steer these kinds of sleds very well anyway. It came with an adequate nylon rope for pulling.
I don’t care when I’m just hauling gear, but the notches in the side are supposedly safer hand grips so that if kids hold on there and bang against other sleds or objects that there will be fewer pinched fingers.
This says weight limit 275 pounds. It’s large enough for two kids or one adult. Hill-tested by people in both those categories last Friday! The plastic seems quite sturdy, better than my previous sled I think.
There is some sprue trash on the bottom from where it was removed from the mold, but a minute with sandpaper would remove that if I cared.
Because of its generous size it might be difficult for one small child to handle alone.
I didn’t give it a 5 because, well, it’s a plastic sled. They don’t last more than a few years.
