Now, was this a steal or what? I definitely was not thinking of buying another necklace when I was at the store. I just finished picking up a few things in the skincare aisle. At the end, there was a carousel of jewelry items. Very seldom do I buy accessories from drugstores. I am very sensitive to imitation silver and gold products. Such material causes skin irritation for me.
The thing was I saw a set (Necklace and pair of earrings) that I really liked. Many of the pieces on this rotating rack were on clearance. I would have liked this no matter what price it was, but the fact that it was so inexpensive made me pick it up and throw it in my basket immediately. I didn't even think to myself, "It's going to make your skin itch and cause a reaction."
This necklace came with a matching pink pair of earrings. I haven't tried them on, yet. I find my sensitivity issue is worse with earrings since they go right into the holes of my ear lobes. If they aren't made of real gold or sterling silver, the holes where the earrings go in get very itchy and my ear lobes get very red and hot. That being said, I wasn't in a rush to try them out right away (Or ever). So far, the necklace has made my neck feel a bit itchy, but when it does that, I immediately take it off. It usually happens within 3-4 hours of wear. It hasn't turned my neck green yet. That's so gross when costume jewelry does that.
I really like wearing this with light colored clothing like, white, grey, etc. It has a chain throughout made out of an unknown metal, iridescent pink beads, matte pink beads, flat oval beads that have a shattered appearance (Very pretty and unique), very light pink, teardrop-shaped beads (They appear almost clear), a big faux pearl and a large bubblegum pink bead. I like all the different textures and sizes. All the colors coordinate with eachother. The beads are strung on 2 chains giving the necklace a layered look that I'm quite fond of. It closes with a lobster claw, a closure I prefer.
