Although this product is identified by the manufacturer as a hand soap, I often use it in the shower. The moisturizing properties of SoftSoap Milk Protein & Honey are superb. I am diabetic and have a problem with very dry skin on my feet. This buttery-colored, liquid soap is very mild and does marvelous things for my dry skin, especially my heels. Diabetics must be very careful about harshness with foot care products and are generally advised to not soak their feet. SoftSoap Milk Protein & Honey is my alternative to either of the above concerns. It has been dermatologist tested and approved, but keep it out of your eyes. It can be very irritating to the sensitive tissues of the eyeball. If you get some in your eyes, rinse immediately with large amounts of cool water until the burning stops. It will not damage your vision and won't send you to the local emergency room.
Its rich and profuse lather feels silky and comforting, yet is easy to rinse away and leaves no oily sensation. With some other products I've tried, my heels return to roughness within hours of use. SoftSoap Milk Protein & Honey "wears" much better, lasting at least overnight.
Of course, it just couldn't be perfect (grin). I find the fragrance too strong. Of 19 ingredients, a coca product and fragrance are rank ordered at 6 and 7. Since labels require ingredients to be listed by amount, in order of most to least, these two are present in ample amounts. I smell a hefty dose of what I perceive as raw coconut. The fragrance isn't cloying though, and dissipates quickly.
SoftSoap Milk Protein & Honey comes in a 7.5 ounce nicely shaped plastic pump bottle that should fit on almost any shelf in the tub or shower. Refills are available in 32 and 64 ounce sizes. I really like what this soap does for my skin and recommend it highly.
