This DVD is the love story of a young writer, Richard Collier, played by Christopher Reeve who falls in love with a photograph of a beautiful actress, Elise McKenna, played by Jane Seymour This story actually begins with an elderly lady approaching Richard Collier. She places an antique gold watch right in his hand and pleads with him to return to her back in time. It wasn't until years later that he discovers a way to return back to 1912. Richard Collier finds himself in The Grand Hotel and becomes obsessed with a lovely photgraph of Elise McKenna displayed on the wall. This movie has all the charm of that era.The fashions are quite lovely and the music is haunting. The idea of traveling back in time is a little far fetched to me, but nevertheless it makes for a most interesting love story filled with intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed this DVD of " Somewhere in Time " and I regard it as one of my favorites. I sometimes wonder if traveling back in time could ever be a possibility as improbable as it seems. Then my mind drifts off to lofty thoughts and I try to decide where would I want to travel to and what century would I select. Without a doubt, I would choose the Victorian era. My second choice would be to travel to Tahiti during the eighteenth century. That would be primitive but a most interesting concept. This movie certainly made me think about the unknown possibilities of traveling through time. Call it rash but intriquing entertainment for the mind.
