I really like this television. I waited out the sales until this thing came down to 599.00. I knew on rare ocassion that it went that low so that was an advantage. I did much research in consumer reports and else where reading tons of reviews from various sources. Most of them were pretty good reports. The one that I received had a sparking sound on ocassion when changing the channels. I thought that to be pretty strange and after having it for about 3 weeks it lost its picture and would not show much of anything. Three days later it came back on and everything was fine. However I decided there was some sort of intermittent problem so I got sony to send me a replacement set and that one is working fine. The picture quality and colors are quite vivid. I really like this model. In some of the reviews that I had read, some complained of the sound not being up to par. I really do not agree. The sound is pretty darn good on this model. I am not saying its a huge sound system set up on it but it is good. The remote works well, the features are great and I would say its pretty user friendly. The television is not at all hard to adjust. I did buy this at best buy and chose a 32 inch model as it appeared to be the perfect size for my living room. I also took into consideration weight and how hard it would be to lift if I wanted to move it. The 32 inch size I can handle pretty easily. When you start getting bigger than that It gets tougher very quickly. Reliability is a big issue for me on anything. I regard it as probably the most important thing. After all if it does not work what good is it??? So, I will monitor this model closely and should this one malfunction a rapid update will be coming quite quickly. The redsox games look awesome on this as do all the sporting events. I have it hooked up to my knew dish network system. The games look tremendous in high definition as do the movies. I have a sony dvd player hooked up to this also. They are made to interact together and do so well. The folks at sony were pretty good about sending the replacement without much of a hassle. They merely required a proof of purchase to be faxed to them and a credit card in case I was trying to pull a fast one which I understood. I am looking forward to a few years of good service from this set. Time and quality control will decide the reliability verdict.
