This Sony camera is a standout product. It's easy to use, has a wide variety of settings to help you capture the perfect shot, and I'm constantly surprised by the quality of the pictures. I've added a couple photos taken using this camera so you can see the vivid colors and definition.
With 7.2 megapixels, the pictures are fine quality and manipulate well in Photoshop or other programs. The pics do take up more space in memory, though, so it's best to buy an extra memory stick. I bought a 1G and can take almost 300 pictures with it.
There's a 3X optical zoom that adjusts with the flick of a finger. Small objects, flora and fauna get brought right into focus and make all those vacation shots worthwhile. The 2.5 inch LCD screen is easy to see, with clear menus to help you navigate through photos and choose the best shots.
As with all digital cameras, occasionally the pics are grainy. Play around with the settings -- for dim light, try both the nighttime and ISO choices. For best quality photos, it pays to play around with the angle of the camera as you take the picture. The way the light hits the lens greatly affects the resulting picture.
The camera is light enough to shoot one-handed and can fit in pocket or purse. Other than a few scratches to the chrome, it's held up well with more than a year's worth of use. The battery lasts a long time and charges quickly.
The camera plugs easily into your computer or laptop for easy uploading of pictures. It's a versatile camera, great for family photos, vacation shots, photos of products to sell on Ebay--whatever you can think of. With all the great features and settings, I'm still learning about all this camera can do.
