These Sony earbuds are some of the best sounding portable speakers that do not cover your ears. Their small yet powerful Neodyium magnets give crystal clear sound that can rival their larger, full ear counterparts. They produce clear, powerful bass, as well as crisp treble with little to no distortion. Great for anyone who requires more sound quality in a smaller package.

Included are 3 different sizes of silicon earbuds which fit over the actual speakers. This is great as everyone has different sized ears, and allows for more comfort. Once you find the appropriate size, it is an almost perfect silence when placed properly in the ear, as the buds block out most eternal noise. After a few minutes of listening I sometime forget they are there.

Unfortunatly there are some drawbacks. The retractable spool is a great idea, except that the spool itself is much larger than necessary and becomes a nusance for anyone who has a larger player without a hook (such as an iPod). Also the wire itself is awkwardly short and very thin, it will only be a matter of time before it gets pulled out of the spool or earbud and rendered useless.

These great sounding buds are overshadowed by their cheep build and annoying dongle. Sony is attempting to sell for smaller cheaper players, forgetting that most people interested in high quality sound won't own those cheaper players. If you can find these buds without the spool it is a better choice
