If you are looking for a set of small, yet high quality bookshelf speakers, the Sony SS-B1000 speakers are a wonderful value.

These are a two-way bookshelf speaker set that are only available in black. I found them on Amazon.com for a great price ($50 with free shipping). I have a very limited amout of space in my office and was looking for something to squeeze between some books on my bookshelf.

They are about 16" high and only 8" wide and 6" deep, making them a great fit for a small space. They feature a 5.25" main speaker and a smaller 1" tweeter. The construction feels quite solid. When I turned up the volume, they didn't rattle and vibrate like a cheaper speaker would.

Sound quality for these little speakers is excellent for the price. Of course you aren't going to create Earth-shattering bass with these, but that's not what they are designed for. They have a very rich mid-range with the vocals of most music I played coming through quite clearly. Highs were crisp and well balanced. You can buy better sounding speakers, but not in this price range.

The Sony SS-B1000 are rated to hold 120 watts of power each, although I haven't tried to push them that hard. I have mine connected to a 100 watt Pioneer amp which is more than enough power to fill my little office with sound.

There's not much more to say about these wonderful bookshelf speakers. If you are in the market for a set of inexpensive, yet very good sounding speakers, this is a solid choice.
