I recently came down with a severe cold with an amazingly sore throat. My throat hurt so bad that I wasn't able to sleep. I asked a friend of mine what I should use to calm my throat and she suggested Cepacol. Cepacol offers a wide range of products to ease discomfort during c common cold.
I purchased Cepacol and immediately threw it into my mouth. The box says that this lozenge is a cough suppressant and oral anesthetic and I would believe it by taste alone. This medicine tastes very similar to the medicine that the dentist injects into your mouth before filling a cavity. The directions are to suck on one lozenge and then a second immediately following. The taste is so bad that I almost didn't make it to the second lozenge.
WHile this product did ease the pain in my throat by a small amount for a short period of time, it was not enough to warrant reccomending it to anyone else. Also one of the unpleasent side effects is that the roof of my mouth and tounge went completely numb.
