My wife and I took a weekend romantic get away to Duluth, MN and stayed at the South Pier Inn on the Canal. Our stay was simply perfect.

This hotel is perfect. If you stay here request a view on the canal side. It is a little more but the view is worth it. We had a room on the canal side and had a beautiful view of the Aerial Light Bridge. We sat out on the balcony and watch the ships pass through the canal. Some of those ships were huge.

Our room was perfect for a romantic weekend. It had a hot tub and fireplace right in the room. The bed was very comfortable. Our room also had a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was nice in size, larger than most standard hotel bathrooms.

The whole hotel was quiet. It is not a large hotel so that helped with the noise. I did not see a lot of families with young children here. It seemed to be more couples.

My wife and I enjoyed taking a walk along the river. There are many nice restaurants in the area.

I felt the staff was very friendly and always took the time to greet you as you came into the lobby.

They had a small but nice continental breakfast in the morning. It was basic but everything was fresh.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here and we would gladly stay again.
