Spa by the Sea is about 20 minutes from the city. It is a resort by the sea with spa amenities and grill bar offering fresh sea foods. It is very convenient to visit and just enjoy the nightime sea breeze.
But when we visited recently, they were badly hit by the typhoon Frank that the surroundings look like a dumpster. Their floating resto and function hall went down. Anyway here is a picture of my husband and myself beside their pool. The place is so quiet as there were no guests.
But well, the one thing that we enjoyed was the warmth of the staff. They are so accommodating is a island life sort of way.
I hope they will be able to restore the beauty of the place soon, before the tourists come to our city for our annual festival in October. I feel sorry for them.
Update On Sep 02, 2008: I forgot these most important info. Spa by the Sea is located in Silay City, Negros Occidental, southern Philippines, situated beside the beach. The capital of the province of Negros is Bacolod City, so the resrot is 20 mins from the capital. Very easy to go there.
It is basically a spa with a hotel, pool, restaurant and bar. It isn't like one of those classy spa accommodations, its rather crude, but for the price and privacy, it is worth it. Regular rooms average at $20/night twin sharing. For the more expensive ones, you may just have to add about $5-8. Their massage is a little expensive than usual of day spas in the city, which is about $6-8 an hour, including the use of sauna. At the resort, Massage is $12
