My nightmare started last Halloween. We just had new carpeting installed in our family room the day before and were on our way to a huge family party all dressed in our ghoulish outfits. Our dog has the run of the family room while we are gone so off we all went. 4-5 hours later we came home, my daughter and her boyfriend met us at the door and said - it was an accident, don't be mad. Well, I could smell it already!!!!! The poor dog had piles of diahria all over my new carpeting, it smelled so bad I could have thrown up. My other daughter was frantically trying to clean it up but was just rubbing it into the carpet. We used our regular standup carpet cleaner and it did a reasonable job but we had to wait until morning to make a decision. When we checked it the next day, you could see brown cirlcles in the carpet and the smell was still horrible. I called my brother who has a Bissell SpotBot and he came right over. He set that little machine on each spot and let the machine do its work while we had coffee and breakfast. Every once in a while he would move it to the next spot. I couldn't believe how this machine just went through it's cycles, no lugging a big standup cleaner from place to place. The difference was amazing when he was finished. The odor was gone as well as the brown spots. I went out and purchased this machine the next week and it's come in handy a few times over the past year. It's very user friendly, easy to operate and store, and I recommend it to my friends all the time telling them about our dog fiasco. Luckily we haven't had a duplicate of that night. I think the dog might have gotten into too much human food that day with so many people in and out of the house but I have my SpotBot ready to go!!
