A friend of mine has bought this mini stepper from Amazon for only $59. Unlike traditional stair climbers that are built like mini-escalators with moving steps, this one is very small and compact, it basically consists of two stepping pads on a base plus a small monitor. Despite being so small that you can hide it under your office desk, the stepper does a good job imitating the stair-climbing motion. As I got on the unit to try it, I found it very easy to use at first, but after about five minutes I began to feel the impact. It was very much like climbing stairs, and my leg muscles were getting a good workout. The monitor is very basic, it displays your time and counts your steps. One thing that can be mentioned as a possible drawback is that you cannot change or adjust resistance – what you get is what you get, like it or not. However, I found the resistance just right, so I probably wouldn’t adjust it, anyway.
