Consoles such as the Xbox 360 were a success due to their wonderful accessories and online services. What makes Xbox Live, Microsoft's online gaming subscription service, so rich and enjoyable is the ability to play and communicate with friends. The standard Xbox 360 Headset is a wonderous accessory that further enhances online gaming. It allows for cross game chatting, the ability to strategize with teammates, and even just casual talking among a group of friends.

Some major specs to these headsets are their colors, headband-like design, 2.5 mm jack, and volume controls. Standard headsets come in white or black. The nat black or plain white editions make a perfect match for standard black or white controls. Keep in mind that these are wired headsets, which means it has a wire about 3 feet long. Additionally, they are very durable if treated with proper care. I had mine for over a year now and it still functions normally. When looking around and buying these headsets, make certain that they are from Microsoft. While there may be many generic microphone heasets available, they tend to be cheaply made and will indeed break on your second day of use. These headsets are also one size fits all. Another thing that i love about this mic as with any other mic is the ability to flexible move and shift it around. The components made to build these headsets are very flexible, giving gamers the up most customization and durability. There are many gamers out there that love wearing hats or even just having an odd hairstyle. Though regular headsets are not cut out for the job, Microsoft headsets are expandable which allow you to change the headset according to your personal needs and quirks. The style and design makes this headset very comfortable. Along the mic and the ear pad there are cushions to give more comfort. However, when used for extended periods of time it can hurt the ear. But nonetheless it delivers crisp sound to gamers for a very reasonable price.

Many standard Xbox 360 consoles or bundles do not come with headsets. Therefore many people who maybe a first time buyer of an Xbox 360 may miss out on the full online experience without a headset. I would highly recommend anyone without a headset to buy one. Most sell for $10, if not lower. If you are a casual gamer or even a hardcore one, your online gaming experience would not be complete without one of these.

So all in all, I give this headset 4.5 stars for its price, durability, decent sound quality.
