I was very excited to try out this body cleanser and tried it for the first time yesterday. I expected it to smell like its namesake, Imperial Green Tea. Much to my disappointment, it smelled like mint. There was not even an iota of green tea fragrance.
I'm a fan of minty products, but not for allover body use. I generally use such scented products for my feet.
Though not impressed with the misguiding title of the soap, I was impressed with the foaming action. The product is clear and creates a lot of suds right away. You don't need to squirt out a lot to clean your whole body. I did not find it to be noticeably moisturizing.
I like the ingredient-blend of typical detergents and surfactants like: sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, lauramide DEA, with herbal remedies like: sasa veitchii extract (part of the bamboo genus), camellia oleifera seed extract (tea oil camellia / lu shan snow camellia), lavender oil and peppermint extract. I like this combination of ingredients because the detergents really lather well, and the botanicals included make the gel seem fancier and more therapeutic.
I received my sample (.33 fl. oz. / 10 mL size) by doing a trade with a friend. The body wash (8.4 fl. oz. size) sells for $15 on the brand's website.
