This is the second solo disc from Stevie Nicks, taken on a break from her work with Fleetwood Mac. It is a solid collection, but falls short of her previous effort, Bella Donna.
The highlight of the disc is Stand Back. The popular song was written by Stevie as a response to Prince's Little Red Corvette. Prince also performs on the song. The rest of the songs are quite different than Stand Back and are much more mellow in nature (like most of her work).
I particularly enjoy her duet with Tom Petty on the song I Will Run to You. It is a very slow song and their voices sound so great together. They have song together many times in the past, and I hope that they do so again someday soon. Beauty and the Beast is a ballad that is popular with many of her fans and a regular part of her concerts. For me, the song is a little bland and doesn't connect with me.
While this is a good disc for Stevie fans, I wouldn't recommend it for others. Check out Bella Donna, Trouble in Shangri-La or her greatest hits discs first. If you are still looking for more Stevie, then check this one out.
