Diane Mott Davidson has written another great book about Goldy Schulz and her catering business. Sticks and Scones is one of a series of culinary mysteries which are very witty and entertaining to read.

In Sticks and Scones, Goldy has a big catering job which takes her on location to a restored English castle (but not in England, it happens to be right in Goldy's hometown of Colorado). Goldy is excited about her assignment, but life has a way of throwing you curveballs when you least expect it. Goldy comes up with murder (doesn't she always) and also has personal dilemmas to deal with. Between her ex-husband's interference, trying to keep up with her catering assignment, and her cop hubby, Tom, getting shot, Goldy doesn't know if she's coming or going. This story even throws in a ghost for good measure.

Sticks and Scones is fast-paced and witty, with loads going on until the very end. Goldy is one of my favorite heroines to read about, she is one gutsy lady who always seems able to handle whatever life puts in her path. I found Sticks and Scones to be a good and enjoyable book.
