Collecting pins started a few years ago innocently enough by watching people pin trade at Disneyworld. I couldn't believe what an enormous industry pin collecting is. This year I got to the point where I needed a place to store my "little" pin collection other than in a drawer where no one ever saw them.
My daughter who works at Disneyworld gave me this beautiful pin storage bag earlier this year. It looks like leather but there is a tag on the inside that says imitation leather. You could have fooled me! I can now take my pins with me and show them off to friends.
The features of this storage bag that I like are:
** Size: this is a large 15" wide by 13" tall storage bag with an emblem engraved on the front with the 1971 Disneyworld and 1955 Disneyland logo with Mickey Mouse. There is a gold colored crown shaped pin attached on top of the emblem. The front flap looks like it straps closed but it is actually a magnetic snap enclosure.
** Storage: when you open the top flap there is a large zippered enclosure for paperwork or a pin magazine. Below this the inside of the storage bag zips open from both sides to reveal 4 double sided cloth pages measuring 9 x 12 so you have 8 sides to hold your pins. Two sides of each page velcro closed. You attach your pin to the outside and then put the backing on the inside by opening the velcro enclosure. Each cloth page is separated by a vinyl page to protect the front of my pins. In the back of the storage bag is a zippered mesh bag and on the back side of the bag are two 5 x 6 pockets that close with a velcro strip plus 3 slots to hold pens. This bag is designed to store up to 400 pins but to me that would seriously depend on the size of the pins and how close you want them together.
** Strap: There is a generous 54" strap when fully extended. This makes it easy to carry on or over my shoulder.
Not only do I have a beautiful looking storage bag for my pins but it helps me organize them by collection, whether it be Disney, Dutch pins, or my Hard Rock Amsterdam pins. Storage is the most important part of a collection and this bag has it all.
