I am currently five months pregnant and recently purchased this crib after months of research online. After comparing numerous brands and styles, we chose the Storkcraft Ariel Stages 2-in-1 crib in the oak finish. I was hesitant to order this online without first seeing it in real life, but I have to say all my worries were put at ease once it was assembled. Each piece was wrapped in protective plastic and it was shipped in two boxes to further protect it from damage. It took my husband about one hour to put this together. The directions are firmly attached to the mattress support board, and each piece was clearly labeled for easy assembly. We gave it the ‘shake test' and it is very sturdy! No wobbling at all. The crib itself has stationary sides. It has no drop rails for little fingers to get pinched in and because of this, we know it will be very quiet. The crib has three different mattress support levels so it can be lowered as the baby learns to stand. The finish is very nice! It matches the oak trim in the nursery and some existing oak furniture that we own. The finish is non-toxic so that it won't harm the baby when it starts teething on the rail. Our favorite part is that the crib converts to a full size bed, complete with a headboard and footboard. Overall, we are very pleased with our purchase. The pictures do not do this crib justice. It's very nice and is comparable to the cribs we viewed in stores that retail for $400-$500. We plan on getting many years of use out of this crib, and look forward to having it put to full use when the baby arrives.
