My favourite thing about this book is it is not like any other. Alex Rider, the hero, is fourteen and only wants to be normal. Dragged into the spy world, Alex shows a discontent for being blackmailed into such a role after the death of his uncle. Blackmailing a fourteen year old into working for them, the government, threaten to get Alex’s guardian, Jack deported. Based on the book, one of many, by Anthony Horowitz, it pulls you into the book and only does the story release you when it is over. As a huge fan of numerous genres of fiction, Alex Rider has caused by facination with spy genre. Saving the world from an evil and perhaps rather insane wealthy business man, intent on killing all the school children in London with a computer virus; Alex does it with style, gadgets and reluctance with the slightest hint of revenge towards the man for whom murdered his uncle. I now own all the books in the series and it has been with disappointment, I finished each one, desparate for more adventures of Alex Rider. For a wide age range, you will not be able to put it down. You have been warned.
