I picked these up at the most random place. Who knew that Ace Hardware would stock a variety of sunglasses? I was with someone who was busy talking to a salesperson, so I started browsing. I saw two big racks of really affordable glasses. I saw three pairs that I liked. I ended up choosing these. They looked the best on me.
These have UV 400 protection. I find that they provide noticeable relief from the sunlight. There is one thing about these that I both love and on the other hand, sort of dislike and just don't understand. The lenses do not fully cover the frames. They do not go all the way to the side. I, for one, love this look and think it looks really chic. Even when it's sunny out, the sunlight doesn't come through the open areas on my sunglasses. At least, it doesn't come through enough for it to bother my eyes in any way. What vexes me is that I like the skin around my eyes to be completely covered with UV protective lenses when I'm out. With these, since they are partially open, I feel like the rays can get to my skin.
These were so affordable! They were only $3.99. On the tag, it says they have an $8 - $15 value. I have been wearing these a lot since I got them and I really like them. The only real qualm I have is that the ends of the arms aren't as smooth as I'd like. They are a bit sharp and moderately irritate the skin behind my ears.
