This is one of the most informative books on women's health I have read in a long time! I picked this up because the cover had some interesting wording in regard to the "sexy years". Well, who wouldn"t want to be there? So in reading this book, I came to discover it was informing the reader of how to deal with menopause and everything that meant. Dry skin, sleeplessness, loss of libido, sluggishness, moodiness are all symptoms that menopause forces on us older gals. This book explains that you have other options other than the standard hormone replacment therapy that is freely prescribed and synthetic. Suzanne fully explains that we should all have a baseline hormone test run to see where the estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels are. Then, after finding an excellant informed physician and or endocrinologist who knows of the alternative bio-identical hormones, you could be well on your way to a happier second half of your life.

Bio-identical hormones are based on compounds put together by a compounding pharmacy in the dosages "you need", not a pill that supposedly helps everyone. No one is exactly the same as someone else, that is why your therapy has to be an individualized plan.

She also informs us of the road she has traveled herself with menopause. She wants to inform us that today's medical doctor's are given very little education in this field.

This book can be found on Ebay for between .99 and $8.00. It was published in 2004 and is 416 pages long.
