Sweatin' To The Oldies 2 Richard Simmons
Reviewing: Good Times Home Video Sweatin' To The Oldies Richard Simmons | Rating:
I've done three Richard Simmons videos -- this one (Sweatin' to the Oldies 2), Disco Sweat, and Dance Your Pants Off. Disco Sweat is my favorite, because I like the choreography in that one the best, but this one is fun too.
As in all the Richard Simmons videos that I've tried, this one has good music; interesting choreography that works both arms and legs, and that sometimes is used to act out the words of the songs; exercisers in a wide range of shapes and sizes; and of course, Ricard Simmons' over-the-top personality.
What is different about this one is that in addition to the aerobics that is the main part of the video, it also includes a segment that works the arms using light weights and a floor work segment consisting of crunches and leg exercises, so it gives the most complete full-body workout.
The video uses live musicians. It even has an Elvis impersonator!
It runs a little less than an hour. It was made in 1990.
I have it in VHS, which you can buy used very inexpensively on Amazon. As far as I can see, it's not available as an individual DVD, but on January 8, 2008 Time Life Records is going to be releasing a 5 DVD boxed-set containing the entire Sweatin' to the Oldies series (1 through 4) along with some bonus material.
