My wife recently told me how much she likes the new Swifter WetJet, which she got for $19.99 at Wal-Mart.
It's a pushbroom style mop/floor cleaner that utilizes replaceable cleaning sheets on the business end of it. You just peel the old one off and press the new one onto the velcro surface and you're ready to go.
There is a button on the handle that when pressed (requires 2-"AA" batteries), releases a stream of cleaning solution out of the bottom, from the small container inset up into the handle. (A small sample bottle is included, and a 1-pint refill costs around $3.50, and is good for about a dozen cleanings of a 12' x 17' kitchen floor). It comes in several pleasant scents - in our case Fresh Citrus.
She told me that besides the cleaning effectiveness, and the extremely cheap operating costs, she likes how easy it is to use. The 5" x 10" cleaning head has an abrasive pad along one side that can be used to remove stubborn stains, and it swivels from side-to-side easily. It is very easy to maneuver into tight spots because the handle also swivels up and down, all the while keeping the cleaning pad flatly onto the floor in an optimal cleaning position.
The Swifter WetJet is an inexpensive, almost effortless way to keep your floors spotless and looking like new.
