Okay...Okay, so I like true stories about real people living in the real world. And, I admit, I have a fondness for city girl goes country type stories. Maybe because I am a country girl myself and I like to read that other people have discovered the joys of country life. At any rate, this is another true story about just that. City goes country. This time it is the story of a woman who buys a farm in New York State with no intention of doing any actual farming. But a local dairy farmer talks her into going in with him as partners on some sheep. He quits the partnership and leaves her to deal with the sheep. She knows nothing about sheep but is determined to make a go of it. And so the story unfolds. She learns sheep and tells her story in vivid details of not only lambs and wool but the country side too. I did find it just a tad more sentimental than what I usually like but evenso, this book paints a vivid picture of this womans' life with her sheep and dog. If you want to read real stories that speak of reality and how people can change and build confidence in ways they thought impossible then I think you will like this book.
