My husband is a big fan of the reality television show Ice Road Truckers. He likes it so much that he recorded all of the first seasons episodes on our DVR which uses up a lot of room. I saw this DVD set at WalMart and decided to buy it for him for Christmas.

Ice Road Truckers airs on The History Channel. If you haven't seen it, the show follows six truck drivers who make delivers to remote mining locations in northern Canada. In order to do this they must drive over 350 miles on roads built over frozen lakes. They only have two months where the roads are passable and during this two months they and other drivers must deliver over ten thousand loads of supplies to the mining camps.

The truckers have a usually friendly competition to see who can haul the most loads in the shortest amount of time. Doing this job they have to battle the extreme cold, ice that could melt at anytime, deadly storms, and mechanical problems with their trucks.

This DVD set is the complete first season. It consists of three DVDs and is more than 8 hours long including the extras. The extras are meet the truckers, overcoming challenges, perils of the ice road and behind the scenes.

This is a very interesting show to watch and will definetly keep your interest. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes show about real life.
