I got this wonderful kitchen cookware from a friend of mine who knows that I love steamed food. That was also in the proper timing that my husband was advised by his doctor to go on a strict diet to lose weight.

Let me start with the parts and on how to operate this appliance. It includes a reversible cooking plate on top. One side of the plate can be used if you wish to cook sauce and the other side for steam cooking. It also comes with a rice bowl inside and two steam baskets. There is a water tank at the bottom and a juice collector plate so that juice from the food goes straight there while cooking. It has a touch-pad feature to adjust the heat of the steamer. It also has a keep warm touch pad so the food stays warm before serving.

Tefal steamer is suitable for most foods, whether vegetables, meat, fish or seafood or rice. What's good about this steamer is that you can cook vegetable and rice and fish simultaneously. It also comes with a mini recipe pamphlet to give you ideas on what to cook using it.

This Tefal VitaCuisine is approved and recommended by Weight Watchers. The steamer's quick cooking system helps retain the vitamins and micronutrients in your food.

Update On May 30, 2010: I have been feasting on steamed food for the last 4 weeks. Hubby needs to lose weight as advised by his dietitian. With this Tefal steamer, I love to cook seafood and vegetables seasoned with mere salt, pepper and herbs. Hubby is starting to love steamed food as well. For the past month he lost a weight of 1 kilo. I am very happy to have this Tefal steamer. It has been with me for years now and it is still functioning well and accurately.
