When starting out at soccer I decided to get regular "beginners" shin-pads from Mr.Price the Maxed brand to be specific. What I found out during the heat of a much is that my shin got really sweaty the pad just kept moving around and overall I just felt very uncomfortable when running and ultimately when playing. So after much careful and powerful persuasive action I managed to acquire the Nike TIEMPO GUARD II and let me tell you it changed the way I feel about shin pads!
The stylish design and the simplicity of the decal is nice added eye-candy but it's all about performance when it comes to shin pads ladies and gentlemen. From the moment I sealed the little Velcro strap I noticed how snuggly they fit which is an absolute must for shin pads I was also aware of the weight compared to the maxed shin pads they were as light as a feather. If you're like me who hates it when he's shin pads move during the course of a game you might want to use some ankle tap just below you're shin pads although it isn't necessary it's merely just a matter of preference. For quality shin pads like these you must probably be thinking they're in a price range of R150-200 but no! I tell you I bought them for an unbelievably R80. I must say Nike has hit a niche in the market with this quality, stylish shin pads that are affordable to. I can quite honestly tell you they're indeed the best I've ever had!
